All Inclusive Arctic Orca Tours

Experience the majestic whales in an all-inclusive expedition cruise! During winter time vast quantities of herring travel to the cold Northern Norwegian waters to spawn. This again attracts species like orcas and humpback whales who come to feast on the herrings. An expedition cruise offers you a unique opportunity to see the whales in their natural habitat.

Whale Safari

Every winter, from November to February, vast numbers of herrings swarm the coastline of Northern Norway to spawn. This phenomenon attracts a myriad of marine life, especially orcas and humpbacks, who partake in this grand feast.

On an all inclusive whale safari, the expedition team navigates to the best spots for whale spotting. On some trips you’ll also get the chance to board a RIB and get even closer to these beautiful mammals. During winter in Tromsø, there are mainly two whale species to spot on a whale safari – orcas and humpback whales. Read more about whale watching in Tromsø.

Orcas and Humpback Whales

As the reigning master on top of the food chain the orca has no natural predators. Seeing a pod of these brilliant creatures play in the water is a memory that is bound to stick with you. The humpback whale is known to spend the summer in the Caribbean and heads to Norway during winter to take part in the herring feast. Humpback whales are known for their complex and melodious songs, which can last for up to 20 minutes and be heard over great distances underwater.
